Mall of America, In Bloom
It gets cold in Minnesota but in one corner of the Mall of America, it is Spring all year due to our "In Bloom" installation. Floating below the ceiling in the rotunda next to our painting is a sculpture by the artist Christopher Lutter of a huge and beautiful flock of monarch butterflies, so we painted 87 feet of larger than life flowers that attract butterflies, beckoning the monarchs to this special spot. Rare purple milkweed, lavender and lilacs are some of the flora represented that call the butterflies home all year, bringing some sunshine and hope to Minnesotans even in the depths of Winter.
