Meet Minneapolis
We love Minneapolis and we love the challenge of designing patterns that celebrate it. A lot of our clients ask us to create patterns that represent the Twin Cities in some way. We've done the Loon (twice), Saint Paul, native flowers and pines, Lake of the Isles... This time we thought we'd pay a playful homage to one of the most iconic sculptures we have in town, The "Spoonbridge and Cherry" that Claes Oldenburg and his wife, Coosje van Bruggen concepted together. The spoon was Oldenurg's idea, who had a habit of doodling everyday items that mimicked the female form, wanting to use it as a comment on the garden's otherwise unadventurous layout.
When visiting the Minneapolis Convention + Visitors Association, you can peek through the windows on Marquette Avenue to see this built-in booth in all its glory.
