The Julia is named after developer, Curt Gunsbery's grandmother, Julia. We sat down with Curt and the designer, Martha Dayton for an early morning meeting to ideate for the design and we were laughing hysterically and coming out of our chairs pouring over the photos and listening to the stories of Julia's strong-willed, boundary-pushing life. We knew right away that her story needed to be illustrated and hand-painted on the wall we were tasked with designing.
